Nova's Woodcutting and Fletching Guide on Sun Jun 29, 2008 9:37 pm
I'm pulling some of my guides of the Dodian forums, I made these a while ago and the experience and things may not be the same as this server, but I'll try to fix them.
Skill #1 - Woodcutting
To start off woodcutting you need to know the basics. Basically, you grab an ax, and start hacking at those trees. First, you will need an ax, take a little gold, and head to the general store in Yanille, it's on the road to the west of the bank you start in, in a small brown building. Go there with a few gold, if you don't have any gold, sell your shield or sword you get when you start out. Buy an ax and a knife, it should only cost about four gold.
Next you need to head to the magic book.
Teleport to Seers, it's the S teleport button.
Once there, there should be a few trees around you and a bank. Head to the inside of the bank, put up everything except your axe.
Quick Summary
1. From Level 1 to 15 cut down the normal trees in front of the bank, run back and bank the normal logs when done.
2. From Level 15 to 30 cut the Oak Tree down, it is found in front of the bank to the East at the crossroads.
3. From Level 30 to 45 cut down the Willow Tree, it is found directly north of the bank, past a maple tree.
4. From level 45 to 60 cut down the Maple Tree, it is found right in front of the bank near normal trees.
5. From level 60 to 75 cut down yew trees, these are located a bit ways south of the bank, you will see two tree signs on your minimap, the one to the south is the one you are looking for.
From level 75 to 99 cut down magic trees as they give the most experience and are worth the most, after level 99 you can buy a skillcape (Premium) and wear it, you can also keep cutting the logs for fletching or selling.
Tree Requirements
Regular Tree - Level 1 woodcutting
Oak Tree - Level 15 woodcutting
Willow Tree - Level 30 woodcutting
Maple Tree - Level 45 woodcutting
Yew Tree - Level 60 woodcutting
Magic Tree - Level 75
Nova's type of tree - Level 1337
Tree Experiences
Normal Tree - 50 experience per log
Oak Tree - 76 experience per log
Willow Tree - 136 experience per log
Maple Tree - 200 experience per log
Yew Tree - 350 experience per log
Magic Tree - 500 experience per log
Log Prices
Normal Log - 200 gold each ( Doesn't sell well )
Oak Log - 350 gold each ( Doesn't sell well )
Willow Log - 500 gold each ( Doesn't sell well )
Maple Log - 650 gold each
Yew Log - 1,000 gold each
Magic Log - 2,000 gold each
Skill #2 - Fletching
Fletching is quite a boring skill, although it is very profitable and an excellent add on to woodcutting. If you bought a knife already like I said to do, go ahead and head to Seers again, this is going to be a long trip to level 99, as woodcutting and many other skills are. If you saved your logs I commend you on that, because you will have a ton of more time to do this instead of cutting down another 50,000 logs.
Alright, head to the Seers bank, you don't have to go here, but if you need more logs, this is what I recommend.
Quick Summary
1. From level 1 to 35 you should get normal logs and cut them for arrow shafts, you cannot make normal bows, the reason being for skipping oaks is that..arrow shafts give more experience than oak bows. Note that levels 70-99 (Steps 7-9) are the longest and most boring of them all.
2. From level 35 to 40 make willow short bows.
3. From level 40 to 50 make willow long bows.
4. From level 50 to 55 make maple short bows.
5. From level 55 to 65 make maple long bows.
6. From level 65 to 70 make yew short bows.
7. From level 70 to 80 make yew long bows.
8. From level 80 to 85 make magic short bows.
9. From level 85 to 99 make magic long bows. Now you are done, you have level 99 fletching and can make loads of money by selling bows, or high alching them (Will get into that subject in the high alching to 99 magic guide)into tons of gold. Buy your skill cape if you're premium and show it off, you can make loads of money off this, one of the fastest money makers in the game.
